We're back for TPP 153 and Lady Gaga takes centre stage in the Joker sequel, what are they doing - why are they doing it - and how much singing is in it. The Killer's Game is the latest John Wick wannabe and it looks fun, unless you're someone who is not capable of having fun, like an accountant. Sarah Paulson and Hold Your Breath braces for a dust storm in the 1930's that challenges her sanity. It's What's Inside is what's inside the totter. Gladiator II has arrived and brings us home in the five hole, and if you are someone that watches the sequel before the original then you are dead to me, and I will have my vengeance - on this podcast or the next.

We're back after a 6 month hiatus for TPP 151, mainly to service an intervention as the Intern must face the fire and struggle with his hatred of Mad Max and his love for Anya Taylor Joy. Does he have it in him to embrace Furiosa? it will likely come down to how many bungee cords and fire instruments there are. Drive Away Dolls is the first film in a new trilogy of queer B movies from only one of the Cohen brothers, we here at TPP love it when trilogies are planned before the first movie is released. The fulcrum is not a true horror film, but the concept is terrifying in ISS with world war 3 interrupting the astronauts on the international space station during some winds of change karaoke. Poor Things is the next movie by Yorgos Lanthimos which is a name that drips with anticipation from the lips of cinephiles everywhere, so naturally we spend most of our time during the review of this trailer asking the Intern to try and control himself and wipe the lanthimos off his face. Argylle rounds out the lineup in the five hole and it looks like it is going to score on a breakaway, if excitement over a movie made someone want to jack off, things would get pretty messy at Sad Sack Studios during this episode.

Join us at our own high table for TPP 147 as John Wick continues to rack up the most epic body count in cinematic history fighting beyond the trilogy to reach a final dual at high noon. A bear overdoses on cocaine in the teeter and a murderous android named Megan dances her way to tik tok fame in the fulcrum. Women Talking is our Intern entry for 147 in the totter, directed by Sarah Polley and a stacked cast of exceptional actresses - this one is a sure fire awards contender. Rounding us out in the five hole is M Night Shyamalan and a Knock at the Cabin, is the apocalypse really imminent? or are these home invaders just a bunch of psychos...

Avatar finally has a chance to headline TPP for episode 146! James Cameron returns after 13 years to remind Hollywood how dependent they are on his Canadian genius. Quit talking about how long it is! get up and go pee and stop whining! Sam Mendes returns and is directing his own solo written script for the first time with Empire of Light starring Olivia Coleman who looks like she is crushing it again. Romance and horror? cannibalism? murderers hunting each other? you get all of that in the fulcrum with Bones and All. Can you even peel a Glass Onion? Knives Out was purchased by Netflix and here comes the first of many sequels in this mystery franchise starring a large ensemble of quality players. Violent Night provides a taste of Christmas for us in the five hold as Santa Clause does his best John McClane impression killing terrorists on his naughty list.

Stop being a normal for TPP 145! Weird Al's biopic parody is our headliner and Radcliffe is crushing it as usual. David O. Russell returns after 7 years with Amsterdam. There is a bunch of recognizable Hollywood performers in it as usual, but it looks like a convoluted mess and the critics are finally laying into you this time David. The reimagining of Hellraiser is upon us in the fulcrum and hopefully no suffering is wasted. Enola Holmes returns in the totter for some more quippy deduction and Henry Cavill cameos. Disney's newest original animated adventure finishes off the lineup and the lead voice actor is none other than our podcast darling Jake Gyllenhaal, so clearly we are all behind this one and are expecting it to be a resounding success.

Join us for TPP 139! He's got a strong jaw but something is wrong with his teeth! The Batman is our fulcrum and it is apparently a detective story this time around. A 2 hour and 55 minute detective story. Highly touted at Sundance, After Yang is set in the future. Yang was apparently a purchased sibling android that lies and spies on you. The fulcrum is Ti West's latest porno horror film called "X". Guy Ritchie is back with Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre in the totter. Ruse de Guerre is translated as Ruse of War. There is apparently 17 ruses and we expect to see every last one of them. Finally our five hole is Robert Eggers' latest Viking vengeance epic "The Northman".

The Moon is falling toward the Earth! It's hollow! It has aliens inside it? The aliens have a weird hibernation extinction schedule? Moonfall is our headliner for TPP 138. Nicolas Cage returns in the teeter and the weight of his massive talent is unbearable. Scream is back and Ghostface is ready to meta our fulcrum. Kimi is here in the totter and the Daniels fill the five hole with everything everywhere all at once.

Take the red pill and join us for the resurrection of one of the most profound science fiction movies of all time. Don't Look Up for the teeter of 137 unless you want to see a bunch of washed up celebrities circle jerking each other in a lame comedy that is 30 minutes too long. The fulcrum takes a stroll down Nightmare Alley only to be overwhelmed by every villain from every Spider-Man movie ever made shoving themselves into the totter in Marvel's latest mega movie. We cap it off with the highly anticipated Spielberg rendition of West Side Story, which looks like even though it's executing on every level possible it won't be enough. It simply has no spider men, strange doctor's or costumed villains in it.

Join us for TPP 136! as we take out a hit out on our headliner, House of Gucci. The Power of the Dog looks like it will literally sit and stay for the duration, a slow burn warming the Intern's enthusiasm for award season. The Feast is a foreign Welsh film and is about an exclusive dinner party turning into a last supper. Paul Thomas Anderson returns with Licorice Pizza, an inviting coming of age starring some fresh faces including Cooper Hoffman, the son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Slotting into the five hole is Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which brings us more nepotism with Jason Reitman, son of Ivan, bringing Ghostbusters back to the big screen.

Welcome Gyllenholics to TPP 135! Our headliner is The Guilty which is fitting because aren't we all a little guilty of loving Jake Gyllenhaal? Jim Cummings returns in the Teeter with The Beta Test and it looks like he's only getting better at what he does. There's Someone Inside Your House... sorry just kidding! that's the name of our fulcrum for 135. Red Notice slides into the Totter with The Rock, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot all being shamelessly paid 20 million each to circle jerk some cookie cutter action. The five hole brings us what the Intern describes as Edgar Wright's masterpiece, Last Night in Soho. Inspired by Criterion collection movies and starring both of the young actresses that the Intern uncomfortably lusts after - Thomasin Mckenzie and Anya Taylor Joy. Can we say we feel awkward instead of worried or excited?
