The Intern Archive Update #14

What could be called the Academy episode as there are 4 movies this week that were nominated for multiple Academy Awards. This is also the best line up that Nathan has ever chosen to date for great movies.

YOU HAVE TO BE

WORRIED    OR    EXCITED

Trailer #1: The Imitation Game

Directed by Morten Tyldum starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Keria Knightley, and Matthew Goode

Intern Review Taking place during World War II a man who is great at solving puzzles completes the task of solving the German Enigma machine by inventing the Turing machine. This is a great drama where we all get to find out how the computer was made. Go watch this whenever it is convenient which should be right now.

Trailer #2: Rudderless

Directed by William H. Macy, Staring Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Felicity Huffman, and Selena Gomez

Intern Review: A Father who is dealing with the death of his son from a school shooting finds a box of cd's and a lyric book in his sons belongings. He tires to get to know his dead son better through playing his music and starting a band. There is a twist of how this story gets told and is well worth the watch to find out about school shootings from another point of view.

Trailer #3: Life After Beth

Directed by Jeff Baena Starring Aubrey Plaza, Dane DeHaan, John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon

Intern Review: A boyfriends dead girlfriend comes back from the dead and he tries to make his relationship work with a zombie. The last scene is really funny, if you can make it to the end it might be worth it. If you have anything else to watch I would check that out first.

Winner: Nathan 3-1

Trailer #4: The Theory Of Everything

Directed by James Marsh Starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones

Intern Review: This is the life story of Stephen Hawking as told through the eyes of his first wife Jane. This is really a masterclass in acting from both Redmayne and Jones. The physical acting of Redmayne is breath taking and Jones commands the screen like few others. Watch this for the acting alone and you will have a good night.

Daniel No Definitive Response - sounded worried about watching Hawking's genius being trapped in his body so we're going with Worried

Rotten Tomatoes 80% IMDb 7.7 Intern +2

Winner: Nathan 4-1

Trailer #5: Foxcatcher

Directed by Bennett Miller Starring Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, Vanessa Redgrave and Sienna Miller

Intern Review Olympic wrestlers team up with a multimillionaire to train for the next Olympics. This is a story about people that are boring. The millionaire is boring the wrestlers are boring this story is boring and if you can stay awake for the great prosthetic and Steve Carell doing a good job acting that is great for you. This is a movie that is shameful for being related to the academy awards at all. Do not watch this as it is a bad slow moving and uninteresting movie.

You get to witness the destruction of everything in a persons life when the comet their life to one sole purpose. Simmons puts on a great show with his crazy intense acting and deserved the Best Supporting Actor Award. Watch this movie then wait a few weeks and watch it again.
